I'm currently making a second attempt at modeling a Canadian soldier, as this time a project at work requires it. The older model is more suitable towards older engines and breaks down pretty poorly when viewed up close; this model is going to fix that. It should be better suited towards newer engines like Unreal 3, and hopefully be a few steps up in quality as a result.
This was just a decently quick test to try and create a Cadpat texture/shader combo that would easily allow me to change the camo from Woodland to Arid Region with as few clicks in Photoshop as possible (another problem with the first one). The mesh you see here wont actually be used as most of the jacket will get covered up by the bulletproof vest (which then gets covered by the load bearing vest). A bit of a shame, as I like how the pockets turned out.
I can clearly now the buttons are there. I can see the folds are on there way. Gone is the flat mesh that looked so dull. It's gonna be a bright, bright Sun-Shiny day. It's gonna be a bright, bright Sun-Shiny day.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This news article features five deviants who took part in Comment Month through commenting on the deviations that were submitted.
Please give your time to this article and to write constructive comments so that you make a true difference to the artists featured here. Although not all may be underappreciated, their efforts deserve to be recognised and celebrated.
